sorry Cato,possibly the worst Ramones track ever
Fair enough.

It's a bit of a departure for them, and I have wondered if Joey was the only actual Ramone on that particular track, but personally I think it's close to the pinnacle of the Phil Spector collaboration,surpassed only by Rock 'n' Roll radio. (Honourable mentions for Danny Says and Rock 'n' Roll high school).

Edit.

Maybe this Ramones cover is more up your street?
yeah end of the Century was essential a Joey Ramone Rock and Roll album, I think Johnny and Dee Dee were hardly on it at all, but still a great record apart from Baby I Love You (IMO) which I suspect was put on there to keep Phil Spector happy, but perversely was their biggest UK hit, they did do some great covers though, this is probably my favourite, who'd have thought it the Ramones doing the Doors?

I like Led Zeppelin's version of Stairway to Heaven by Rolf Harris.

This may divide the room, possibly leaving me on my own in a corner, but I really like it.

You may be right. I liked their treatment of the old Floyd tune. The rest of their music did not engage me quite so much. I did learn from the experience though. Now I know not to go into a lesbian bar asking for the loan of some scissors, for example.

I must be one of the few who doesn't like Cocker's rendition of With a Little Help. There's no doubting that he's a good singist, but I find the slowed down whining version doesn't tick the boxes for me. Which is weird, because I do like his other stuff.

I must be the second of the few then. Cold blooded murder, it was. I do like Joe's stuff for the most part however.

Two more fave covers I forgot earlier...

Both significantly better than the originals...

And it's a bit cheesy but I love this version of this song too. Great bass from Mr Murray...

Joe Cocker doing With a Little Help from my friends reminds me of this;
