At first I read that as "neither" and it made me chuckle.

Wish I'd thought of that, definite improvement! Edited by Dad3353

I don't even mind my bass being called a guitar. We get too precious about stuff that doesn't matter. No preference.

I've become particularly fond of the term "bass guitar" of late. It doesn't get used in full enough. Edited by Dad3353

I prefer bass player - IE someone who plays bass. I find bassist makes it sound as though its some sort of professiojln past a hobby, which for me it most certainly isnt.

I get that.

I'm a decent bassist , but ,while I also play guitar to a reasonable standard, I'm definitely not a guitarist. Edited by Dad3353

Iplay the electric bass guitar, I'm a bass guitarist.

Bassist , I think that's more for someone playing jazz on the double or upright bass.

Don't mind real

Genuinely not bothered either way.

Me neither, it's s description not a definition.

Although if I'm to be credited in print I prefer 'electric bass' - it just sounds cooler. Edited by Dad3353

I do a bit of both which turns you into a doubler apparently. Edited by Dad3353
