jimmy23cricket
Hello, I have just got my hands on a Bugera BVV3000 in an attempt to try all tube at a decent price. Before everyone goes on the Bugera bashing, I must say I have several of there products and generally been quite impressed (if you keep expectations low, it's amazing how they can impress!). Anyway, I got it from the official Bugera bunch in Kidderminster and it was a factory reconditioned amp still with the 3 year warranty. So here's my problem, the amp has a distinctive hum when you switch the standby off. I have tried different plugs and switched off any fluorescent lamps. There is no TV in the room and I have 2 all tube guitar amps that don't hum. I'm not sure if this is just basic ground noise (first time with an all tube has amp) or if it's something I need to go back to the supplier about. Anyway, any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
MoonBassAlpha
Most Valve amps do hum a bit, sounds like you are quite lucky with your guitar amps! If it s really bad it could be a dodgy valve or a smoothing capacitor not doing its job somewhere. If it is really bad, I'd get it fixed under warranty, better than poking around in it or swapping valves and potentially invalidating said warranty. shug
Did you get sorted? I ask because I've just bought the same amp from the same source. How's it been for you? These are the questions I should have asked first... Cheers Shug
