I really hated Rock It. I never gave him any chance as I never knew anything about him. However, I was Youtube browsing a few weeks ago, and came across a concert with Tal Wilkenfield on bass. I realised there was a lot more to him than Rock It. I need to look up more stuff by him
You know this gonna be funky. Does anybody know who the drummer is.?

He's one of my favourites but if I had to pick one tune it would be Maiden Voyage

I love pretty much everything he's done, but as nobody has mentioned it yet, I think his soundtrack for the film Blow Up is fantastic.
It also includes his most recognisable tune, well, sort of.....

Yes, very catchy with some serious players on that track.

His score on "Death Wish" was pretty hip at the time as well.
Huge fan of HH - this is one of my favourites. Funnily enough I have previously posted this in funk thread and was told that it is not funk! Just goes to show how different perceptions are:
What a groove! I need to go back and check that album out again.

By a country mile.... Herbie with Wynton Marsalis, Ron Carter and Tony Williams. One of the most important LPs that I heard early on as I got into Jazz, played to me by a drummer friend. I bought the CD a couple of years ago and I could remember so much of it note for note.
