Skol303 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Just be wary of showers. Take an umbrella Quote
RockfordStone Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 are you being asked to do 4 hours and carry your own lights and PA? if so make sure you are doing it for a fee Quote
Twigman Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 (edited) Are you getting paid for this? If so you'll need a P1 visa to be legal. Good luck with getting one of those. I got one but only after about 3 months and several £££ - before you can even apply for one you need to demonstrate to USCIS that you are an 'artist of international renown' and have a petition lodged by a US 'sponsor' approved by them. If you do it on an ESTA and get paid then you're breaking immigration law. Edited January 11, 2017 by Twigman Quote
Skol303 Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 I think someone might need to explain the joke Clue: Google "20th January Washington". Quote
BigRedX Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Even if it wasn't a joke, I'm sure the organiser of the gig would be able to sort out the visa requirements at short notice. I mean if he can't, then who can? Quote

Cato Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Apparently he enjoys something called a 'golden shower'. So bringing along a bucket in case the opportunity arises to collect some of this gold might be a smart move. Quote
BassTractor Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 (edited)
Why would it be a scam?, even Nigerian princes living in the States have birthday partys requiring a band!
I wouldn't play for one. Your (I mean skidder's) choice of course, but make very sure he produces a valid birth certificate. You know, he might not even be a real Nigerian! You can also check the exact colour of his hair. A real Nigerian's hair will be all-black and will not have "rays of gold" in it. Edited January 11, 2017 by BassTractor Quote
