I doubt anyone who watched the Who at that time said 'Hang on a minute, what the f88k is Entwistle doing playing an Explorer Frankenbass?' as Moon was climbing over the drums and setting the stage on fire...! A trans green Yamaha RBX765a. A trans red Bass Collection SGC Nanyo. A trans Blue Yamaha TRB5 II. A Warwick Corvette Standard 5 Active in oiled bubinga. A trans honey/curly maple Spector Legend 5. A Warwick Streamer Stage 1 5 in natural flamed maple. A Cort Artisan A6 in natural flamed maple. And my current trio:- Fender Modern Player Jazz 5 in satin Olympic white / black PG. Sterling SUB Ray 5 in satin trans blue / silver PG. Squier VM Precision 5 in 3T Sunburst / Tort PG. Not exactly sure if any of them have ever really 'looked the part' for my particular band or not and I think there's a fair amount of variation in looks between them too. They've anyways just been the style that I've liked at the time I've owned them. Basically I'd just say play what you like and don't worry about it .
