40hz Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 (edited) Just seen that the Trace Elliot Facebook page has been updated with a new logo and banner for the first time in years (with a new slogan 'Providing the Pro Solution'). Have we got some new stuff on the way for NAMM? link here https://www.facebook...Elliot/?fref=ts Edited January 18, 2017 by 40hz Quote
EBS_freak Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Who knows - but it's going to have to be pretty special compared to their last offerings... Quote
Yup! I really hope it IS something special as it'd be a shame for the brand to die in a whimper for a third time Quote
Wolverinebass Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 (edited) An updated mp11 would be good. If they did that, old be all over it. Edited January 18, 2017 by Wolverinebass Quote
Bass Culture Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 It's been said before but a lighter weight version of the SMX would have the potential to put a smile on a lot of us older players faces... Quote
Agreed. Smaller, lighter, same power, reasonable price....they would do quite well. I'd probably get one! Quote
Musicman20 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Just had a look. Something is definitely happening. Quote
Musicman20 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 (edited) FYI - still Peavey it seems but they are at NAMM. Peavey now have their Mini Class D amps so MAYBE this is the approach they will take. https://www.namm.org/thenammshow/2017/directory/trace-elliot Edited January 18, 2017 by Musicman20 Quote

Bass Culture Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I do hope it doesn't all add up to a big portion of So What? pie. Maybe they're re-launching the tee-shirts. Quote
2elliot Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Fingers crossed. I'm always interested in a bit of TE... Quote
thodrik Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 It would be welcome news. I can't believe that it is nearly 11 years since the initial Peavey relaunch. I bought a couple of the cabs. Sold one but kept the big 1x15. Optimistic prediction: launch of micro amp to rival the top class D stuff on the market, relaunch of the V8 amp, Pessimistic prediction: relaunch of Trace Acoustic line and few Peavey practice combos and products that have just been given a new badge on the front. Worst of all, none of the products will be green. Quote
mike257 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I've recently picked up an old TE combo for my backline hire stock, took it on one of my gigs to test out and have used it for every gig since! Sounds bloody great, makes me reminisce about my monster green stack I had many years ago. Be great to see them back in the game. Quote
Mikey D Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Really interested to see these in more detail: https://www.instagram.com/p/BPa83Hbh1-m/ https://www.instagram.com/p/BPa89SFh55B/ A couple of pics of TE from NAMM Quote
Russ Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Interesting. Could that be an acoustic amp though? Looks way too tiny to be a bass rig. The little amp on the top isn't much bigger than a fag packet! I'd love them to do a teeny Class D SMX head with loads of power and the dual-band compressor. Quote
Merton Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I just said to Eude, they've either gone batshit crazy or have developed some crazy ass world beating new concept in bass amps...... intriguing though Quote
AndyTravis Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I'm sure this time tomorrow there'll be a blog or spec knocking about Quote

Kiwi Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 It's called the Elf, prepare to be underwhelmed though - only 200w into 4 ohms. http://www.traceelliot.com/#elf SMX preamp in a pedal with eq preshape, tuner and drive. http://www.traceelliot.com/#transit-b No sign of effects loops in either yet...doh. Quote
EBS_freak Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 I can see the acoustic pre being popular though... Quote
VTypeV4 Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 I hope they can make it work this time around - not sure about the above offerings! It'll take a very good amplifier to beat the old 400SMX as I believe that was the peak of the 'normal' graphic ranges - it was certainly the best one I had with the exception of the valve powered offerings. I bet a VA400 is killer though! I wish them the best of luck and as suggested, a lightweight SMX style amp would apeal to many players. I guess we'll see.. Quote
Merton Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Interesting. The Elf could be a good little backup head. I wonder what power amp module it uses... Nothing on the speaker cabs yet that I can see? Quote
