karlfer
Sweetwater have the white, the black and the Tobacco sunburst one. https://www.sweetwat...detail/EBTVTSNH That white one looks fairly tempting! I assume with the current level of the £ vs $ they aren't going to be much off £600
Sadly I think you are right. If so, I'm out, I'll just get a used one and some bits. Cosmo Valdemar
Official word from Epiphone. http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Electrics/Bass/Thunderbird-Vintage-PRO-Bass.aspx They certainly sound good! Now, which colour to get...
BassApprentice
Inserting announcement video: Unusual to get a 12min video from the company itself. Fair play to Epiphone. Although the perma-overdrive sound used is annoying... Edited July 14, 2017 by BassApprentice

An enquiry to Dawsons returned this...
Unfortunately it doesn't look like we will be getting a shipment in of those off Gibson however, we could order one in for you but delivery could take several months.
I remember back when I was trying to get an Epi Elitist EB3 and a lot of dealers had never heard of them. I found the UK distibutor at the time were Rossetti and a call to them said they only got 4 and were getting no more. The dealers who they sent them to had sold them but I ended up managing to get one from Music 123 in the USA. Does anyone know who is the Epiphone/Gibson UK distributor. Does anyone know of any dealers hoping to get any in. Also my experience of getting a shop to order one has usually been at full retail price. I know it is early days yet. Hopefully they will be a bit more common than the Elitists - I think they are replacing the current Thunderbird Pro, and they're everywhere ☺
basshead56
500-600 pounds in the UK I'm guessing, given that a local supplier down here has them online at 1199NZD. Soooooo tempted!
bonzodog
Andertons are offering the new thunderbird on pre order at £499 https://www.andertons.co.uk/p/EBTVTSNH1/electric-basses/epiphone-thunderbird-vintage-pro-bass-in-vintage-sunburst
Muzz
Really looking forward to trying one out: the danger being that if I really liked the sound of those pups and the body was nicer than my current Epi body, I'd be buying one to hack the neck off and Fenderbird it... neepheid
Oh my, that price is better than anticipated. That is highly unfortunate, said my wallet

neepheid
By the way, if you can get over the lack of batwing headstock, have you seen the price of the Embassy? £329 new? That's a mistake, surely? For using a little less glue? It's got funcy special knobs too.

goingdownslow
Has anyone had any experience with pre ordering from Andertons. Do they take the money straight away or when they are ready to dispatch the item? Edit... 'When will you charge my credit / debit card? Andertons Music Co. takes full payment from your card at the time you place your order.' Availability: Preorder Next delivery due: Sunday, 15 Oct 2017 Edited July 26, 2017 by goingdownslow
Musicman20
You can take the option to pickup and lay down 10%, then ask them to send it....apparently. I've never done this but they've told me this a few times. I actually don't think they should ever take full amounts on items that are not in stock for a long time.
