ash Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 (edited) 1964 Epiphone Rivoli Bass and reissue Epiphone case. As you can see it has been well used and modded with a Gibson treble pickup at the bridge. At one point it was converted to left hand and has had extra holes - now filled - to the top. The bridge was made specially for the bass by an engineer friend of mine who I asked to create a copy of the original Gibson cast bridge but with greater adjustability for the intonation. When I bought the bass it had a very basic non stock bridge bolted to it from a cheap copy. The bass has Hipshot tuners that fit perfectly without any extra drilling however I will return the original Klusons. The bass has a superb feel and action and plays brilliantly. The trussrods works and frets have lots of life in them. Withdrawn from here. Edited February 27, 2017 by ash
ash Posted January 21, 2017 Author Posted January 21, 2017 Cheers it's been around the block a few times but it's a lovely old thing!
Bridgehouse Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 And if I hadn't just bought a 74 precision I'd be coming over for a gander at it!!
ash Posted January 30, 2017 Author Posted January 30, 2017 Bump I may take a sensible offer on this as I'm moving house shortly and need to thin out my collection.
itsmedunc Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Lovely instrument. Wish I wasn't as skint. GLWTS
Shaggy Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Beat-tastic! What a lovely looking old Rivoli - great price too, even given the mods Fairly sure that in 1964 these cost more new than a Fender P! If I didn't already have an EB-2 and EB-2D I'd have this like a shot
ash Posted February 6, 2017 Author Posted February 6, 2017 Cheers Shaggy it's a nice old thing for sure!
