We are an established four piece instrumental jazz/funk band (Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboards) based in west lancashire and we are currently looking for a replacement bass player. We have about three sets worth of tunes which we use for vehicles to improvise around and the majority of our gigs are in Jazz Clubs, Cool Bars, beer festivals and DJ based nights where we sometimes play in a side room or whatever. We are all between 35 and 40 and have all been playing 20 years + so would be looking for someone in a similar boat. We rehearse/jam every monday evening 8-10, try and gig twice a month at least and usual fee we get is £180-£250 split 4 ways. Gigs are usually around Liverpool/Lancashire/Manchester area. Obviously with it being of a niche style we cant command fees much higher, but the plus sides are we only play places with their own PA or where our own amplification will carry well enough (minimal gear lugging), we get to play whatever we want and express ourselves in our own styles, we dont have a singer to put up with and the venues we play are usually pretty cool. Ideally the right person will be of a similar age and ability as ourselves, be comfortable improvising and have great time/feel. You must have your own transport, be local to merseyside/west lancashire and have great sounding gear.
