Now sold. Yamaha Pacifica. Great guitar for just £95.

New guitar incoming tomorrow, so this rather fine entry level Yamaha is up for sale.
It played well enough when I got it but due to protruding saddles screws, it was very uncomfortable on the strumming hand. The bridge pick up didn’t function and the controls were noisy. Due to a few high frets and a poorly set up nut, it wasn’t possible to get a decent low action.

I carried out the following works:
Fully shielded the body cavities, with conductive copper foil.
Swapped out the pick ups and controls, for a set from a 112 Pacifica.
Levelled, crowned and polished the frets.
Set up and refitted the nut.
Rounded the finger board edges.
Cleaned and oiled the fret board.
Installed replacement saddle screws of the correct length.
Fitted new D’Addario EXL 110 strings.

I wasn’t keen on the white, single ply guard, so although not an essential job, I also installed a new 3 ply black pickguard and back plate and fitted replacement chrome volume and tone knobs.

It now sounds and feels much better to play and is certainly giggable. The overall condition is very good but not immaculate, as can be seen in the photos it has polished up well enough though. There are a few dings and signs of wear to the paintwork but it is structurally good. The neck and headstock are very clean. All the controls and hardware function perfectly.

I don’t have a case for the guitar, so collection would be preferred.

Looking for what I think is a very reasonable £ 95, collected from my place in Herts.

If postage is required, please contact me to make the arrangements. To reduce the risk of damage in transit, I will remove the neck, bubble wrap everything and pack in a sturdy box. Courier charge will be £15.99.

I'm in Hertdordshire, bit of a trek from your neck of the woods. I'm happy to engulf it in bubble wrap and a sturdy box for posting.

I've got plenty of packing stuff to make it secure. I've never had any problems. I'll be happy to drop by tomorrow afternoon.
