gazhowe
I've owned my MM Stingray (3 band EQ) from new since 2006. Anyone who has a Stingray like mine with a non-lacquered maple neck will know that it's pretty much impossible to keep the neck clean. Despite cleaning the neck once myself it quickly became filthy again so, after reading a thread on BC about getting a maple neck cleaned and lacquered (http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2679232) and a online chat with mcnach (thanks Jose!), I decided to do the same. The work was done by David Wilson (DWilson Guitars) following a straightforward initial contact via Facebook (https://www.facebook...5970885&fref=nf) to discuss the job in detail and make arrangements. I picked up my bass at the weekend and I'm over the moon with the result. Not only is the neck clean, it feels and looks great and with a fantastic job also done polishing the frets and giving it a setup. Communication from David was great throughout and he provided progress updates with pictures too! I will be using David again for any other refinishing work i may need and would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone else who is considering having a bass cleaned and/or re-finished. Here are pictures of my bass before, during and after the work: Before: http://s592.photobuc...ingray%20before During: http://s592.photobuc...ingray%20during After: http://s592.photobuc...gray%20refinish Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. It helped that it was completed within two weeks! It's getting it's first gig run out for a long time tomorrow night.
