Happy Jack
I've sort of stumbled into signing up (free, gratis, and for nothing) with Bandhub. Thought I'd look for guidance here, but I can't find a previous topic so I'm starting one. Is anyone else here a Bandhub member? Any thoughts as to usefulness / practicality? If the thinking is that people at their respective homes record something onto their computers, what is the SIMPLEST, MOST IDIOT-PROOF interface for doing this? You may have noticed a certain amount of emphasis in that last question. Before anyone points out the obvious, that it all depends on what I'm trying to achieve, I'm ... erm ... not trying to "achieve" anything. I've stumbled in here by accident and I'm looking for the lightswitch.

Read this: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/248509-beginners-guide-to-home-recording/ Never be squeamish about going down (to the Recording forum). My cheque is in the post
Roland Rock
Search the forums for bargain Focusrite equipment*. Then you can sell on at no loss if you don't get on with it. *Vested interest Edited January 28, 2017 by Roland Rock

fleabag
There's some talk on the place on another forum.. Might be worth a read https://justinguitarcommunity.com/index.php?topic=35405.
Ashweb
+1 for the Focusrite 2i2 but go for the 2nd gen version. I use one for playing over Skype and have managed to record onto my laptop with it via Audacity. Bandhub sounds very similar to Wikiloops if you're looking for other options to play with - one may suit you more than the other.
Fred Leicester
And another vote for the Scarlett 2i2 here as well. I'm a compete technical dunce, and found it super easy to get up and running :-)
