stingrayPete1977 Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 I heard of someone using the Alto bluetooth ones for a Disco but I think they can be hit or miss as you imagine. Quote
itsmedunc Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) We're using a Behringer X18 wireless desk and active PA if that's what you mean? Edited January 29, 2017 by itsmedunc Quote
BigRedX Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Is wireless actually fast enough for audio rather than just as a control source? Certainly Bluetooth has too much latency to be viable. Quote

It looks pretty much like a wireless guitar system to be honest, transmitter from the desk to 2 receivers at the speakers. Not sure it's going top be worth the bother, was just wondering if anyone was using it and if it worked ok. Les Quote
crez5150 Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 We've got some of these Sennheiser units we use for lo key events..... vox and keys/guitar mainly and they work well. http://en-uk.sennheiser.com/lsp-500-pro Quote

[/quote] There's nothing in their blurb about ultra low latency. In fact it mentions Bluetooth audio can be streamed from devices such as iPods etc and then says with the mic/line inputs they're ideal for live PA. I think it's very cleverly worded. They may get a few complaints... Quote
stingrayPete1977 Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Hey in nothing to do with it, I'm just pointing out that it's not a non starter as it already exists right now in a shop near you. Quote
mike257 Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Good quality wireless kit costs a lot of money. Ultimately, you've still got to run power cables to your speakers, so running two more cables for the sake of the reliability and peace of mind that they're just going to work seems a small price to pay.
