Effects Controller Switches

I have often wondered, if I had a pedal board full of pedals, (and I had not converted to using a Zoom B1Xon multi-effects unit) whether there is a way to select 'banks' of pedals with a switching unit (and avoid that pedal dance that we all do - you put your right foot in... right foot out... right foot in and you shake it all about...).

EG press one of say 5 foot-switches and get a particular combination of pedals; switch other foot-switches and get different combinations.

Surely... SURELY?????

Of course this will mean having to buy all the individual pedals I sold (and a load of new ones too) to build a new board... hmmmm...
