aidanhallbass
Hi, if you've bought a line 6 g10 you might have found that there is a problem with active basses. I found this with my g&l l2500. A mono to mono adapter seems to cure this but I've decided to go down this route: Making a female to male mono cable and heavy duty Velcro to attach the unit to the back of the bass. Problem solved and I also think there's less chance of the transmitter being damaged with it not sticking out of the bottom. Pictures attached hopefully:

Bigwan
What is the problem with active basses you are referring to?
One of the features of the G10 is that it can be charged by plugging it into one of the Line6 wireless equipped amps (very fancy!), via the ring and sleeve of the stereo jack plug. But that would cause issues with active basses as the active circuit is switched on by inserting a mono jack into a stereo socket, whereby shorting out the ring and sleeve connections, completing the battery's path to ground. The G10 transmitter has a stereo plug which doesn't complete the battery path, so your active circuit in your bass remains off. bjelkeman
Thanks! That is an odd oversight in the design. Edited March 25, 2017 by bjelkeman
Bigwan
Thanks! That is an odd oversight in the design.
Yes and no. It's been a judgement call in the design process. To add the handy amp-charge feature they've had to compromise on using the unit with guitars/basses with active pickups. I'd assume there are far proportionally fewer active guitars than active basses, and we all know Line6 kind of stopped worrying about the bass market YEARS ago. TrevorR
Another, more permanent solution would be to swap the TRS stereo jack on your bass for one of these... https://www.amplifiedparts.com/products/jack-switchcraft-14-mono-2-conductor-double-open-circuit This doesn't rely on the sleeve of the jack making the circuit between the Ring and Sleeve connectors on the socket. Rather it's a physical make on a leaf type relay which is caused by pushing the jack into the socket. Works really effectively. This is the system that Wal basses use for their active circuits.
