Piggly wiggly Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 (edited) Hi good people, new to the site and looking for a bit of advice. So, I play in a dad rock covers band and have done for the last 15yrs or so. I'm currently using an old Marshall 115 from the late 80's or early 90's, it's ok but find myself wanting something with more definition and punch. We are a 4 piece, guitar, bass and drummer has an electronic kit, a modest PA with subs, and I use a Behringer 450w head. Has anyone out there had any experience with either or both cabs? Any input gladly welcome, as I have found an EBS 212CL new for under £300 and a Genz Benz 410Focus LT used for similar price. Cheers me dears. Edited February 7, 2017 by Piggly wiggly Quote
Lozz196 Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 I`ve not used either, but from what I`ve read the EBS sound is pretty articulate, and I`ve not read a bad word about Genz Benz at all. Quote
Mykesbass Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 There's a lot of interesting science stacked up against 4x10 cabs. I'd go for the EBS for that alone, but probably also more portable. Quote
pete.young Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Don't know about the Classic Line, but I love the EBS 2x12 Neo cab so much that when I stupidy sold it I had to go and buy another one. Quote
xgsjx Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 The 2x12 will give you better dispersion than a 4x10. I bought an EBS CL 4x10 last week & used it last night. Sounded lovely. My choice would be the EBS. Quote
Piggly wiggly Posted February 8, 2017 Author Posted February 8, 2017 Thanks for the input guys. Trigger was pulled this morning on the Genz Cab, don't think I will be disappointed judging by the online love for this cab. Had to go with a cab that had good reviews and a proven record. Anything's got to sound better than the Marshall I'm using, more wool than an Argyle jumper. Anyway, thanks again for your time. Quote
