Some great feedback here, thank you! I’m thinking of upgrading to the LM800, just for a little more headroom. It has a power handling of 800w RMS, will this work ok with the NY122? I have seen a few players on youtube using the LM800/NY122 setup (including jazz heavyweight Richard Bona himself). But I wanted to swing it past everyone here on basschat first?
Originally, the LM2/3 sounded quite a lot warmer and less clinical than the LM800, but they've changed a fair bit of spec since then, so now I'm not sure. I think they changed the LM3 to a Class D module a few years back. I would try it how it is first....see if you need it.
AdamWoodBass
This thread has been very useful to me as this is a cab I've recently been looking at as a replacement for my 2 no name 1x12's. I am also going to be running a Markbass LM3 and my logic was the same as the OP - one 4ohm cab to minimise footprint and get the full 500 watts out of the head. Great thread guys, thanks. dmccombe7
I have the 121p combo with ext cab and its as loud as my Ampeg SVT4 Pro. Used it in larger venues circa 150-200 without PA. I was depping and when i turned the amp on and not even at high volumes the sound guy said it sounded great on its own and no need to DI. My wife also said the sound out front was excellent and could hear the bass very clearly (Jazz bass). Compare that to using my other main rig at that time of Ampeg SVT4 Pro and Berg HT322 and my back loves me now. Tonally i found you could get a "similar" tone from the Markbass rig. brinbasss
Pleased I saw the chat about the Mark Bass Ninja cab. I'm thinking of adding one to my 2 x10 cabs. Was going to go for a single 15" or the 2 x 12. Suggestions welcome. Thanks : -)

Sounds awesome & dead easy to transport. Can't fault it at all
