I'm thinking of moving somewhere completely different in England when I finish university. Somewhere with a great music scene that isn't London would be best! What can you fine lot recommend? How is your area for live music? :)

Bristol and the southwest seem to be pretty good for the non-normal or more interesting type of music.

I have a couple of solo gigs in Bath and Bristol coming up.

There's a lot going on in Birmingham, also excellent transport links to Wolverhampton and Coventry which are also pretty decent.

Coventry is dead! For original bands at least. Far too many pay to play venues.

Banbury has a brilliant, thriving music scene, we have great transport links and one of the highest employment rates in the UK!

Stockport is pretty lively, with a good community of musicians. And 10 minutes from Manchester on the train if you want the bright lights and bigger venues.
