Extended Length Bass Strings - Where do you buy them?

I ask this question to the folks on this forum. I own 2 Dingwall ABZ6 bass guitars and I love them - however getting strings for them has been a pain in the ass as I've been using Kalium strings from the US. They sound fantastic but the shipping and customs is a pain.

Does anyone have any suggestions on other suppliers for strings? Preferably more local.

Apologies if this has been covered before. A quick 5 second search was fruitless.

Make sure that you factor in your behind the bridge saddle length and your behind the nut length. I did not and it got expensive.

Kalium tends to be long enough (oddly enough 37" is considered "Medium" for Kalium strings) so I always had a few inches excess.

Fortunately Newtone has gotten back to me and they are happy to do up to .200 gauge strings. So I'll give them a spin (with some extra inches for bridge saddle and nut length.

Well, being the fool that I am, I didn't explicitly mention this to Newtone and now my 2 low strings are slightly too short (the fat core part is shy an inch off the nut). I'll see if I can order another 2 that fit. In the mean time, I'll use the other strings.

I use newtone strings in my 40" scale bass.If you tell Neil the right dimensions,he will bo them right.I am very happy with my cooperation with newtone strings. Now i am gonna build a 45" scale bass. The strings are in my home.Didnt open the package to see them, but i am sure they are at right dimensions.
I used to buy kalium for my 40" but i need 30$ for shipping,+ last time i waited 30days to confirm that they will send them to me,and canceled the order because they didnt answer at my e-mails.
So,the last 15 months, newtone strings at any bass

I have previously bought D'Addario singles for a Dingwall (albeit 5-string). Extra Long Scale for the B and E and Long Scale for the A to G strings, they worked fine.

Neil from Newtone is sending me out 2 new strings for the low B and E so that's kind of him. Hopefully sooner than later.

I've stayed away from D'Addario before as I used to own a Carvin XB76 (35 1/4") and the strings didn't fit. If they do fit a 37" Dingwall, that'd be nice.

I've been thinking of trying to find some flatwound strings for my other Dingwall but, one step at a time...

Dood has some experience with using our strings on Dingwalls. Our superlong strings are wound to 38" from the ball end, unfortunately this isn't quite enough for a 37" scale low B on a Dingwall when you take the distance behind the string saddle into account. As therealting suggests you should always measure from the location of the ball end to the far side of the nut to avoid heartache!

I do indeed and yes, for the Dingwall models with a 37" scale length, (lowest string) the D'Addario 38" Super-Long string is a smidge too short to make it through the nut, seated correctly. Another centimetre would be spot on for string fitment. I haven't checked the E string on Dingwalls, but at 36.25" scale length, I suspect that the Super-Long gauge will meet the nut correctly. Maybe that's something we should test?

I am happy to do any leg work if need be.

Received two new strings from Neil at Newtone. They fit this time and they are huge! Need to readjust my bass to fit the bigger gauge.

Thanks all who posted.
