Bassman Sam
I recently bought a Fender Precision Special Deluxe from our resident gear tart Karlfer. It's the first bass I've had nearly 50 years that have flats fitted. I love them. I'm also in love with the P body and Jazz neck. I have another Precision with rounds and it now feels and sounds wrong. I think I've finally seen the light. scrumpymike
I've had that experience too - doesn't come round often though.
Chiliwailer
Nice one Sam, always good to hear. I've felt the same about my P Bass for the past 2 years. I've had some killer P's over the years, but this is the only one that has felt truly 'mine'. And of course, flats as standard
colleya
Is that the CAR one? If so it used to be mine and is a superb bass, good choice!
Lozz196
Nice one Sam, it`s great when you get an instrument that feels so right.
Cato
Welcome to the club. My 2016 Deluxe Special is my new favourite bass.
LewisK1975
Yep, nice one, always great when something just feels 'right' straight away. Been thinking about putting flats on one of my Precisions (and Jazzes actually), but the high tension scares me! I did read on here that TI flats are relatively low tension, so might try them, have to wait until pay day though, they're pricey!
karlfer
Glad you are enjoying it Alan, it's a very well sorted bass. The tension on those flat wounds is just right for me, slightly more than La Bella, slightly less than Fender. These guys have them a lot cheaper than I got them http://www.ebay.co.u...lAYkR3bFnDEnpTQ Drop down list, 4 string bass flatwound 45 - 100 Don't know how many they have left though.
