ead
Hi all Just acquired a 1991 MIJ Ibby with a nutral finish, possible oil or wax but not sure. It's in pretty good condition but I'd llike to give the bass a bit of general clean etc. What's the bast way to proceed with body as I can't see anything specific about the original finish? Thanks in advance. Gratuitous pic: [sharedmedia=core:attachments:238403]
dyerseve
Damp microfiber cloth. Add a touch of fairy liquid for stubborn marks
Grangur
If it's oil or wax, water will lift the grain. So if this happens you may need to rub it down to flatten the grain and re-oil. All that said; if it's anything like Warwick coloured basses, it'll be a coloured semi-matt lacquered finish. If that's so, a damp cloth and Fairy is right on the money. After a closer look at the pic; I'd say that's coloured lacquer. Congrats on the new bass. May you both be happy together. ead
Thanks boys. Looking inside teh control cavity I'm not so sure about the coloured lacquer, I think it may be oil or wax so I shall proceed with caution.
