MacDaddy Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 So in it's current line up, whose band has been together the longest? Quote
MacDaddy Posted February 22, 2017 Author Posted February 22, 2017 (edited) BC members of course, otherwise we'll probably be saying The 'Stones My band in it's current line up have been together IIRC for 7 years. Any advance? Edited February 22, 2017 by MacDaddy Quote
franzbassist Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 My band has the same lineup as it did in 1989..... BOOM! Quote
stingrayPete1977 Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Just over a year in it's revolving format I think and that's on a knife edge, lol. I once joined a blues band as a temporary member as the proper guy had cancer and they had gigs booked, it wasn't my thing at all, about seven years later I realised I was the only original member! Leonard Smalls Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 The Badass Weeds have been going since 1982! Quote

Leonard Smalls Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017
same line up?
Yup! Though we did used to have another guitar player (only Chris Hasket!) - but he went back to the US (we didn't need 3, and besides, he was too good for us!), and a keyboard player (Jay Rayner!), who went on to do less musical stuff. But we've got the original other 2 geetars, me, singer and drummer. Quote
Mykesbass Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Not the same line up but I'm guessing WaterofTyne's Caffreys would take some beating. Quote
BigRedX Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 I don't think that any band I've been a member of has lasted more than a couple of years without a line-up change. Quote
Rich Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 My band had its first gig a month before my daughter was born. She's going to be 23 in May. Quote
Mudpup Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 My lot (Yellowhouse) have been together for about 17 years - no original members left though, longest serving member is the singer at 13 years. Quote
FinnDave Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 I've recently started playing with the Cartoon Heroes from Swindon, they've been together 20 years plus. I believe the the other three are original members, apparently their bass player passed away. Quote
Lozz196 Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 My current band was formed in Aug/Sep 2013 and still the same line-up. If any of us left I doubt we`d look for any replacements, probably call it a day. Quote
Twigman Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Band has existed for 37years (since 1980) 4/5 of current lineup been together last 32 years (since 1985) the other 1/5 joined in 2009 Quote
DangerDan Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 My band has been going with it's current lineup for about 10 years now... Quote
lojo Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 After a 7 year break (longer if you don't count silly projects) I picked up again in 2009 and still play with the same people I met then Quote
blue Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 (edited) My band, Maple Road has been together for 12 years. I've been with them for the last 5 years. We still have the 2 founding members. I'm actually only the 2nd bass player. However, we have been through several drummers. Bkue Edited February 23, 2017 by blue Quote
gjones Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 A band I was in for 3 years has had over 20 members in the 7 years they were together. No wonder I left. Quote

BigRedX Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 I have friends whose band has been going since the late 70s. While the line up hasn't been the same throughout, of the current trio, the guitarist and keyboard player are from the original line up (although the keyboard player left in the mid 80s and rejoined about 10 years later). The current singer has been in the band since 1980. Quote
