bubinga5 Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 I think this whole album, is a masterpiece of early UK soul music. Every track on it is great. They don't make em like this any more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yG07WSu7Q9w This is a very special song for me and I'm sure many others. Quote
Mykesbass Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Great album by a much maligned artist. Quote
AndyTravis Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Yep. Love 'A New Flame' too. Can't understand how he's ended up so detested. Anyhow, I do enjoy the earlier stuff up to and including 'Stars' - all got a bit crappy after that. Quote

julesb Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Good call bub. I ended up feeling overexposed to SR at some point but no doubt this is quality. Quote
bubinga5 Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 (edited) Love this record. gotta love the very funky rhythm guitar at 1.55 Edited February 23, 2017 by bubinga5 Quote
Grassie Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 (edited) I think it was Mick Hucknall's later image as a "king birder" that did for his artistic integrity. A similar thing seemed to happen to Jay Kay - too many paparazzi pics of him in limos with the latest "leggy blonde" ((c) The Sun.) Shame really. "Stars" is their best.
