visog
Great vid - lovely playing and that bass is a thing of beauty. It's a good tune too with a great line. If I can be a little pedantic here, the sound of an Alembic is in that growly low-impedance sound with tone woods. So your crunch tone, whilst reproducing Geddy's gritty sound nicely masks the Alembic ringing purity... I guess it depends on the purpose of your vid! But glad that you did it... jazzyvee
OK sorry I'm not an Alemnerd.... how about this then? https://www.youtube....h?v=YlCzYpr-98Q
No need to be, I am a certified Alembic nerd and proud of it. :-) That link isn't a series bass either, nor are any of the ones on display in that video. Whilst the body looks the same as a series bass they are generally categorised by the electronics in the bass but that may not always be the case on a custom build. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TJ_UMV7sGQ The one in that video i posted is a series II which is basically the same shape as the one you linked to. But the body is wider to hold the series innards and has a 5 pin plug for the external power supply which comes standard with series basses and has true single coil pickups and a third pickup which is for the noise cancelling system. Hope that helps.
