Great job. It looks fantastic and I'm sure that it sounds just as good :)

Oh - and I say this simply because I forgot once - did you remember to solder-join and earth the shielding? I love that copper shield material....so, so much better than conductive paint in my personal opinion. Nowadays, I solder all of my earth wires to the shielding itself and let the spring washers do the job for the pots - means none of those horrible blobs of solder and trailing earth wires on the back of the pots ;)

I got one of these a couple of years ago and didn't like the salami effect pickguard either so I covered it in adhesive vinyl just like you've done here with the headstock.
Works a treat as a cheap way to change the look and easily changed again in future too.

Worked so well in fact that I did it again with my SUB Ray to go from this:

Might be worth a try?

Nope, haven't yet and if I'm honest, completely forgot. Whilst doing it I purposely didn't do the scratchplate though as I had it in my head I'd be changing the scratchplate and there was no need to waste any copper.

Cheers for the reminder though, it'll be done when I next open it all up.

You know what, as I did it I thought using it on the headstock was a fantastic idea, but it never crossed my mind to use it on the scratchplate. I'll look to see if I can find some white pearloid stuff. As it would save me have to cut a sheet of plastic to suit. It's an annoying scratchplate as it's slightly different in shape to your typical fender one and if you look closely, the Seymour Duncan P pickup is smaller than the old one and has left a gap.

Looks great. Get the hipshot bridge and tuners from the marketplace posts and give it an all black look.

It's got a chrome high mass Fender, Badass style, bridge at the moment.
But I may go down the black hardware route in the not too distant future...
