dmccombe7
I'm of the opinion that if i enjoy it then great but i do prefer to see proper musicians playing a song. I don't think i would ever go to watch someone create music on stage with just a keyboard and a laptop kinda thing or modern DJ's. Being a bassist i specifically want to see a bass on stage as it adds to my interest. I do have albums done by solo artists that have covered all parts using keyboards or samples and i enjoy it. What i do find a bit of a pain is DJ's that take samples and make up "music" using samples from other peoples songs. Its just not to my taste either musically or ethically. All that said if people are enjoying it then whoever it is must be doing something right. Dave Edited February 28, 2017 by dmccombe7
lowdown
No. Fair enough you got me.
Now look at what you have started. I never knew that 'Popcorn' was so popular in 1972. Apart from the Hot Butter version already posted. There was this from Apollo 100 - which sounds like some kind of Acid trip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmilpJoP-m4 That were not content with that, so Apollo 100 had another go at it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bh5kInh5G8&list=PL8XFxV0apdmqJepRnmg1cvS10g0BXl_V2&index=5 Anarchic hacked away at it in 1972 as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ap2_erSXBQ
BigRedX
Those of you that follow Basschat's composition competition will already have heard this piece that I created which was built entirely out of sounds generated by interpreting the data from the JPEG image, that was supposed to inspire the piece, as a wave form. Nothing even vaguely resembling a musical instrument was used in the production of this track.
