Bob G
I have a bass, and I have a PC (tower variety with various inputs). How do I connect one to the other so I can play the bass through the PC speakers while playing music through same?
kodiakblair
A wee mixer with USB does the trick. I use the Behringer Q502 USB but there's plenty others. There's guitar to USB cables too but I never got then to work right.
BassBus
More and more effects processors have usb connections these days. Simply plug them in and off you go.
dyerseve
be careful with how hot your bass's output is. I blew the input on a soundcard when I plugged one of mine in - it runs 18V active EQ though. you can get some very decent soundcards which have a front mounted module that is the same size as a DVD-ROM drive that will have 1/4" jack inputs and RCA outputs to make connecting your bass very easy as well as listening to it. dyerseve
I have one like this - it should come with a PCI card as well: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DMX-6Fire-24-96-by-Terratec/262886315577?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20140122125356%26meid%3D299ffc9585f7417d8b8ab05a2748cfb9%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D162201205836
Bob G
I think I'm ok on the bass front as it's passive so hopefully won't blow the soundcard. I will look into the options - quick and dirty or cheap and cheerful will do me! Thanks everyone.
