essexbasscat
Ibanez 7 string ! https://youtu.be/6NjGX0c1tDs
Roger2611
I think I will stick to two different basses rather than the one to conquer all!
Yank
I saw this in a catalog. So what, it's four string fretted with E, A, D fretless? I think a double neck would be less clumsy. Seems like a novelty. Wonder how wide that neck is? Make a great boat anchor.
PTB
That's too much for me! My old bass teacher had a 4 string bass where the neck was fretless after the 7th fret. Never seen another like it.
Acebassmusic
My old bass teacher had a 4 string bass where the neck was fretless after the 7th fret. Never seen another like it.
Sounds logical to me to save money on fret wire. Doesn't doctrine dictate that "thou shalt not venture above the 5th or the infidel shall feel the wrath" ? Right then....I'm off back to the "flat earth" thread......
lowdown
Ibanez had a similar thing going on a few years back. Maybe the Six string didn't catch on, so they upped the game with a seven string. AndyTravis
The white ashula pictured above was a very pretty looking bass and made some sense. I don't get this new one at all.
dyerseve
Just cannot see what need there is for this bass. Surely a niche within a niche within a niche! As said above I think a dual neck would be a less clumsy solution
Harryburke14
I for one quite liked the Ashula I played at the Ibanez event. very nice indeed but definitely not a "thumb around the neck" bass. Think of it as two different instruments and it really isn't difficult to play either.
