Biglump Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 I am doing a slot at a mates birthday party. So I want a couple of songs to play solo and show off with. I've got 'A hard days night' by The Beatles sorted and melodied. I just want a couple more show off songs that will stand by themseves on bass alone. Suggestions, please. Quote
MacDaddy Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 If you can nail this it is quite impressive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjGKM6VFJ-s&app=desktop Quote
ambient Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Any of the Bach cello suites sound nice. I've got solo bass chord melody arrangements that I did last year scored out for autumn leaves, when I fall in love, summertime and what a wonderful world. They're for 6 string bass though. Just play the melody line with a bass note underneath. Sometimes the melody note is part of the chord which sounds really nice. Quote

Roland Rock Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Bass guitar mag had a good series of arrangements for solo bass. I remember learning How Deep Is Your Love, Take the A Train and some others Quote

Biglump Posted March 13, 2017 Author Posted March 13, 2017 Thanks all. I think I'm pretty settled on the Melody of A hard days night and the Bach Cello suite 1. If they come out ok, I may post up the vids. Quote
