I found that to get the best results I had to experiment with Pickup/Pan, and EQ on the bass. Small changes on the controls of the SYB-5 can make wide sonic changes. Decay/rate as well as Frequency and resonance make a massive difference to the end result. The MODE dial selects from a wide range wave shapes (Saw tooth, Square etc.) If you put this through an envelope filter things can get seriously funky!!
