Deep Purple new CD

It's on Now TV so I'll probably watch it tonight. Looking forward to the new album, the new songs sound... interesting.

I heard the single on Ken Bruce's show last week. On one hearing I thought it was a bit bland.

I love a bit of Purple though so I will give the album a listen.

The single is a bit odd, some of the stuff on the programme was much more like it (I felt).

They have nothing to prove. Just been reading the interview with various members in Classic Rock. They know they are in the twilight of their careers and without making a big hoo-haa about it suspect this may be their last major tour. Even Steve Morse, the 'new guitarist' of 20 years is 61 and suffers from an untreatable and advancing form of arthritis which will ultimately end his career. They all seem pretty chilled and just enjoying the ride for however long it carries on. Only heard 3 tracks from new album so far, sounds like a continuation of the previous one (not entirely surprising as its another Bob Ezrin job) which is no bad thing as that was a distinct upturn from the rather downbeat predecessor.

I watched it on to the other day.
Musically it sounds great, but I have to say that I found the vocals 'interesting'
In watching it I finally found out why Steve morse wears the glove. Not great for someone of his stature 😳
All in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable doc.
