TheGreek
That LPB finish does this no favours - a cream/off white/sailcloth finish would make what is an already stunning bass a class above. Hope the new owner repaints it.

Happy Jack
They didn't actually do these in LPB did they? Every factory fretless I've ever seen from the 70s is either 3TS or a hippy re-fin.
Grangur
That looks to me like Ford Fiesta Blue. I should know, I've painted a couple that colour. The neck is SO original id doesn't have a serial number. Is that correct for the era? Didn't Fenders of the period also have chamfered edges on the pickguard? This one may be "old" but not authentic. I think the word that's missing here in the listing is "bitsa" To respond to the OP. I think it looks quite good. I like the colour etc. My only gripe is the claim to authenticity and the price for a bitsa Edited March 14, 2017 by Grangur
anzoid
If I had the money I'd be all over this - it would also be a YOB+

Chiliwailer
Grangur - the serial on a '74 would have been on the neck plate, and those anodised pickguards were phased out around '59. So...what he means by original is that it's an original one of a kind
anzoid
So, how much would it really be worth if one were to, hypothetically, make an offer (which would probably be rejected...)?
sblueplanet
It is an after-market anodised pickguard and having bought one from Fender for my formerly owned jap '57 reissue, I can confirm that these are flat-edged and not bevelled, being single ply.
