Nicko
....by posting someone elses. Mine is very similar to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqWRaAF6_WY
Conan
I'm not sure I really have a "tone". I change the sound to suit whatever band and/or song I am working with at the time. Generally though, Fender (or similar) Jazz bass with both pickups, and tone, on full. Amp settings fairly flat or with a boost to the mids. Very little distortion/crunch/grind (call it what you will!). I can't actually think of anyone else with a similar core tone. I'll give it some thought though... Maybe Jonas Reingold... Graham
This is pretty much what I'm going for http://youtu.be/nVCMLWtVN5E
markstuk
I'm not sure how to describe it, but it's something like Eric Czars when playing for JB.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWx-3fiG7mk
Lozz196
Aggressive, punchy, twangy and hard-hitting. Pretty much the opposite of me as a person in fact. My tone/sound is somewhere between JJ Burnell, Duff McKagan, Bruce Foxton and Lemmy.
Roger2611
Foxton meets Hooky with a bit of Pino thrown in if I am playing fretless (well I would like to think I sound like Pino!)

NancyJohnson
A gnarly mux of Geddy Lee, dUg and JJ Burnell.
markdavid
In development ...............constantly Seriously though, it was kind of aggressive, gnarly etc but my current band have said that my sound needs more low end, I can kind of see why they would say that as we are playing cream/hendrix/stones kind of stuff, now it is kind of dark-ish, bass and low mid heavy Edited March 17, 2017 by markdavid
Cato
I generally aim for something like this. http://youtu.be/MVTkbCCl3-I As someone who started out with mainly metal, then indie influences, Stuart Zender's work with Jamiroquai really made rethink the instrument and how it could be played. I still think he has one of the best tones ever. Edited March 17, 2017 by Cato
joeystrange
Either something like this http://youtu.be/rzJ21OpFnZ0 Or something like this http://youtu.be/8C8CWX2KfMc Depends what day it is. dmccombe7
Preferred sound is cross between Geddy Lee and Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple era) with fingerstyle (no plectrum tho) Current sound for covers band is somewhere between or like these using a Fender PJ.
