The GroovyPlucker Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 (edited) Just acquired a Fender 50's Precision Bass MIM, 2015/6 ish model, still current I believe, anyhow, looking at turning it a bit Steve Harris, without paying the money for the beautiful MIJ version, which I owned previously. So Baddas or the like bridge, but probably bassass, and new pups. Reading online (too much info) always loved the seymour duncan, some are saying the spb 3 are too bassey, some say the dimarzio are the best, as they do about the fralin, the latter being the most expensive so maybe not an option. Paul S Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Depends entirely upon the sound you want, really. For me it is the Fender Original but others prefer Seymour Duncan 1/4lb er, which I find way too harsh. It is all so very subjective. Quote

My intention was to offload them, prior to getting the bass and hearing them, now I`m not quite so sure. Final decision will be made when I change strings but at the moment they are making a dead set of Fender nickel rounds sound great, and I usually hate those strings. Quote
