Put a new 9v battery in my di pedal last week. After about 1 hour or so playing the amp sounded distorted today.Dead battery again.Sure it should last longer.Looks like I need a psu.

Are you leaving the input plugged in all that time (between practicing/overnight at home etc...)?

But yes - get a PSU, don't want to risk that at a gig...

Can you not phantom power it from the mixer? I use my Sansamp that way, never missed a beat.

( My stand-by Behringer BD121 however doesn't have that feature, but then again for £24 it would be asking a lot! )

If it's a pre-amp type DI then eating batteries sounds about right, I've had a couple that were the same. I've no experience of the Hartke, however, so [s]could well be[/s] very probably wrong.

I can't see why a d.I box should eat batteries. There's not going to be a huge amount more in there than an on-board bass preamp. You do know it can be phantom powered from the mixer?
