Rocker
As per heading, I tried an Epiphone Toby 5 string in a shop recently. Felt like a pretty good bass, not plugged in so cannot comment on the sound. Is my Markbass up to the job if I bought the Toby or any other 5 string bass? Low E works fine for the music I play, wondering where I would use the extra low notes but first I need to know if my amp would be able to cope. Thanks. Ed_S
I have a Minimark 802 that I've used for acoustic singer-songwriter and middle-of-the-road rock stuff. It always handled the low B with a fairly clean tone absolutely fine - at least up to the point where I'd want to go through the PA for some reinforcement anyway. yorks5stringer
I had an 801 and then got an 802, both handled the low B at levels appropriate to the wattage.
