AndyTravis Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 See what I mean about the blue? both are googled images btw, my brother doesn’t take pictures of his gear hahah. 1 Quote
Maude Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 It definitely has a blue hue to it. I never used to like pearloid but I've lately started to come round to it. I think it can look terrible but the right colour on the right guitar looks great. Hell I even like pearl mint green now. 1 Quote

I once had a old Tokai jazz in lake placid blue ,that faded to a green colour. I managed to source a mint pearloid guard for it and it looked ace 😁 1 Quote
Maude Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 There's a seller on ebay/etsy in Canada that does plates in a lovely black paisley on a beige background. I was going to message and see if they have the sheets of it or just buy in the plates. 1 Quote

I saw a similar coloured Gretsch guitar with cream binding and a tort scratchplate and it looked awesome. 1 Quote

AndyTravis Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 this is an unbelievable price for a great yamaha bb. if you were thinking about a 734a, look at this - it does all the same stuff and is “vintage” bb. PLEASE, someone save me from myself. 1 Quote

TheGreek Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Currently maybe - once you start on 5ers there'll be more stuff to tempt you. (the voice of experience) 1 Quote

Doctor J Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Nice. Can you get a gold string tree and pickup selector switch too? 1 Quote
gobasserk Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Yes we can 😄 String tree and switch is no problem. Tuners.... we'll see Quote

Tuners.... we'll see I got some Gotoh ones which are a nice fit - I was lucky and found a used set, but they’re not cheap new. Wilkinson’s are too big for the headstock dimensions 2 Quote
gobasserk Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 I was thinking on Wlikinson's but without measuring I can see that they are too big for the headstock. What Gotoh's do you have? Still trying to find tuners with the Fender-ish wings but maybe modern tuners will have to do. Tried Schaller BM4L ..too short.. Quote
andy67 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 How about Hipshot: https://hipshotproducts.com/collections/bass-tuning/products/hb3-bass-tuning-machine 1 Quote
gobasserk Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 They look good. Distributor is the unfriendly Mr. W of Warwick...57 Euros for one tuner.... thanks for the idea!!! If I can't find any other band I will test them. Quote
gobasserk Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Did you ever see this ones? Sadowsky tuners Quote

Maude Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 @gobasserk could you possibly measure from the 12th fret to the top edge of D/G half of the pickup on your shiny red and gold dream machine please. Just so I can best decide where to route my 424. Thanks 🙂👍 Quote
