The Yamaha BB mega-thread

I don't think i've posted my BBG here yet. Sniped on eBay around November for absolutely stupid money, since upgraded with Seymour Duncan SPB-3s which were mispriced (sorry PMT). Stock is was fine, but the pickups were lacking a bit of heft and I struggled with the lack of bottom end compared to my other basses.

This BBG has cost me under £175 including adding the pickups. It plays like butter, sounds amazing - it is my go to 4 string.

So here's my BB605,  bought for the neck which I'd hoped to transplant onto the body of my BB615 before @AndyTravis put me right.  This is 24 fret, the BB615 is 21.

Has more in common with my BBG5S than the BB615 IMO.

I had the 4 string version in the same colour. It was a really nice bass to play with a Ton of useable sounds.

Love the smaller bodies on these compared to the rest of the BB range.

What is the string spacing like on theses. 18 mm is the the only spacing I could get used to on a 5 string.

Considering going back to 5 string as the new band  do covers versions in quite different keys to the original.

Wow! Stunning piece of wood on that for £175!

NBD! BB450!

Last friday, in fact. Took me a couple days to get it to a playable state. Unresponsive truss rod (fixed, I hope, will see in a couple days), at least one broken tuner, badly worn and cracked P pickup cover. Great neck, sounds very good. A nice addition to my BB collection (if the truss rod holds).
