megallica
I've had this for a few weeks now and now I've had a chance to use it in a practice session I thought I'd make a post. I wanted a similar bass to my musician bass that I can use for a couple of down tuned songs in our set. I've owned several roadstars and always regarded them highly. Swapping between my mc924 and this is effortless, the Roadstar doesn't have quite as much tonal palette as the musician but there's not much in it either. My RB850 is 3.8kg, the RB851 is only 3.6kg and the MC924 is 4.1kg. This was never exported to Europe, I've been lead to believe and the previous owner bought it directly from Japan. It's active like the later model RB850s but has an extra control knob which offers tone adjustments for each pickup. Also there is a body contour which reduces weight and hides my unsightly gut. megallica
It's an 87, serial number starts F73.... My first RB760 was an 87 similar feel to this bass but I get more bottom end out of the RB851.
bjelkeman
Yeah, The RB760 wasn't great for a big bottom. I upgraded mine.
