Twincam Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 I was thinking there is some great simple baselines out there that while obviously solo don't sound like anything much but in song sound great. So just for fun what are the best but most simple bass lines? Extra points for the fewer the notes etc. Quote
MrCrane Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 The bass line for All Right Now has no notes until you get to the chorus. Quote

Johnny Wishbone Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 (edited) The verse to "Funky Monks" by RHCP has to be up there - bar the odd fill it's only one note, and it's glorious. Edited March 27, 2017 by Johnny Wishbone Quote
upside downer Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Public Image by Public Image Ltd springs to mind. Quote
Bobthedog Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 My banker would be Safe from Harm - Massive Attack (not the original - Stratus; Billy Cobham, on account of that having several fills, albeit a better tune). BABF#ABBA - three notes (I don't think there are any fills in this song) Maybe; The Time is Now - Moloko - 9 notes though and perhaps not good enough for this list but The Pixies' Where is my Mind is only 5 notes (or at least the way I play it is!) xgsjx Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Some great mentions. D'Angelo's Chicken Grease. Pino on bass making a couple of notes sound funky. Quote
Twincam Posted March 27, 2017 Author Posted March 27, 2017 As said above some great mentions already. And some others I will have to check out. Quote
