TheGreek
Would like to research how the controls are recessed into the side of the body. fretmeister
I have seen on in Bass Player a few years ago. Can't remember the make though. For some reason I'm remembering Phil Lesh on the cover.
Grangur
That looks to me like it would be fragile.
Dood
I've seen the make, but I can't put a name to it right now, sorry. Whilst talking about different ways to mount controls, it reminds me of Maverick Guitars. I really liked the way the controls are flush with the body here: The pots are just standard ones but fitted to a 90 degree metal bracket inside the compartment. TheGreek
Found it: http://www.kingbass.com/shape.html Some interesting designs. Site hasn't been updated since 2006
Dazed
You looked on Talkbass? Might be an owners club thread. Kings seem to be quite highly regarded over there if I remember.
Passinwind
You looked on Talkbass? Might be an owners club thread. Kings seem to be quite highly regarded over there if I remember.
I've played a few, they were exceptionally nice IMO. David King is a very cool guy too, I had him make me some custom wood knobs several years ago and he really went out of his way to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. AFAIK he's still building in Portland.
Grahambythesea
My direct answer to your specific question is horrible! Having looked on the website there is absolutely nothing there I would give house room. He may be a very good/clever luthier but they all look like style over substance to me and I bet they're expensive.
RhysP
I don't think the description "Turd on a stick" has every been more appropriate.
HowieBass
I bet you can't even use it as a cricket bat...
Bass_Guardian
Looks like nessie popping his head out of a mudbath. Utterly hideous.
Rocker
Going against the grain, I like the look of the last one on the right. Very lightweight so what's not to like?
