Baxter
Hi Folks. I've a Squier VM telecaster bass - the big single humbucker one. I've done a few mods on it and it's sounding and looking pretty good aside the tuning slips a good more than my other basses. So I'd like to change the tuners over with something that's a straight swap as I've already retinted the neck and would rather have no further holes. So it seems that it's fitted with the same design and screw spacing as mexican standard and usa highway 1. It seems that hipshot hb7 is a direct replacement but £100 is a bit steep So the question is are standard MIM tuners likely to be any better than the Squier ones. They do have different spare part numbers. Ta
Grangur
I've got some Squier tuners going begging. I have had them on a bass and they held ok. If you're interested PM me.
iubitu
well i have bought the HB7 for my ex-Squier but found them alot cheaper through allparts. back then when i bought them i asked Hipshot for prices and they quoted me around 200 pounds for them (4+1)
Baxter
Thanks Grangur, but I think I'd be we as well to upgrrade the Squier ones if I'm going to swap them over.
