gary mac
Quite fancy getting myself a Looper pedal. Being a complete newbie some recommendations would be most appreciated. My preference would be for something of good quality and easy to use.
Muppet
My looper of choice is the Digitech JamMan Stereo but others are available!
MisterT
Owned a Boss RC30 for about 3 weeks, sold it on because I just didn't get along with it. Built-in drum patterns (only 10) were dreadful - and that's not me being picky. I think I'd get something cheaper next time if I did it again, or start with something 2nd hand to work out if you like looping and then go for something fancy if you're hooked. MoonBassAlpha
I think it helps to know how you think you are going to use it. Some will quantise the loop length so they stay in time with a tempo, others (Ditto)don't, so it's a lot harder to get the end of the loop spot on to a tempo "grid". With practice it does get a bit better, but I often find the little nudge in tempo at the end of a loop can be off-putting. *disclaimer* I've only ever used the Ditto. The actual sound quality is good though, and is true bypass, so won't impair your tone when not active.

tonyquipment
If you want cheap just to play around with then try ammoon looper. £30 off eBay. Check on YouTube for demo. Not bad for 30 quid imo.
floFC
I got the HotOne Skyline Wally, which is tiny, dead cute and pretty good with some nice features (http://www.hotoneaudio.com/products/skyline/loopstation/7.html). But my son nicked it so I got myself a DigiTech Jamman Stereo, which I use as a practice tool and is brilliant.
roman_sub
+1 for Ditto x2. Having separate stop / record buttons makes it really easy to use!
