Big Uli Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 Well, I plead guilty as charged Picked up a Laney amp and cab for peanuts on ebay this weekend Some may say there are better amps than the G150 but for my purposes it is more than enough to begin with Now I just need to set up my effects pedals and the fun can begin Quote
stu_g Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 I used to have g150 perfectly good amp and those cabs arent bad either I had 15" version. nice purchase. Quote
Tonteee Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 I saw that on eBay and nearly bid on it myself. I thought the G series was for guitar, but from the looks of it the functons are almost identical to the DP series. I dearly miss my DP300. Old fashioned heft, to coin a phrase. As in I had to heave to lift it... Quote

Deedee Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 Good man. There are many bargains to be had out there! Quote
andytoad Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 I bought a beringer combo off the back of a recommendation on here for monitoring. Best £60 I have spent! Quote
Big Uli Posted April 2, 2017 Author Posted April 2, 2017 I have quite a few behringer bits myself All pedals Either Behringer made very little money or the rest make too much Quote
Tonteee Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Old Laney gear is good. Like Trace, but cheaper. Most of the late 90's onward stuff's not so good. This is late 80's heyday stuff. Quote
Kevin Dean Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Great amp , nothing wrong with it at all . Quote
bazzbass Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 old heavy gear is the young man's playground. Once you get old and your back hurts you have no choice but to go lightweight. Enjoy it while you can . You can drop those old Laney and Peaveys down flights of stairs and they'll still work, ask me how I know hehe Quote
JPJ Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I had the 1x15 combo version of this amp (I think it was a G120?) I seem to recall that with the shape 2 button depressed and the graphic set right it could do a more than passing resemblance of the de facto Trace Elliott tone that was popular at the time. Quote
