tauzero Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Noticed this on the Bass Direct website: http://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Bee_Bass_Headless_Fretless.html Definitely something you don't see every day. Not enough strings for me though. Quote
RhysP Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 (edited) How can it be "in unmarked condition with light player wear"? It's either unmarked or it has light player wear, it can't be both. If it was carbon fibre or finished in a nice bright colour or something I think it would look pretty good. What I never understand is when luthiers make something unconventional/modern looking & then build it with woods that makes it look like a Victorian roll top desk. Edited April 4, 2017 by RhysP Quote
EliasMooseblaster Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 It looks like a first draft of a Dead Can Dance album cover. Just strange enough to be quite charming, in the same way that I've been quite taking with some of the more peculiar Wishbass designs, in spite of my normal preference for "classic" Fender- and Gibson-style designs. Roger2611 Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 I quite like it as well, you could do some serious damage with the pointy bits! My only worry is the forward strap mount can't have a lot of meat to be mounted into? Quote
Happy Jack Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I'm guessing the "fitted case" is designed to be fitted to a different bass. Quote
Bassassin Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 It's got that "almost, but not quite", slightly wonky look you tend to see on home-made basses. Would be an interesting & striking design if it was just slimmed down a bit - as it is it's just slabby & a bit ugly. And looks like it's made out of your gran's wardrobe. Quote
Happy Jack Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017
That's wicked...
Now how did I know that you'd like it? Quote
tauzero Posted April 8, 2017 Author Posted April 8, 2017
It IS a Victorian roll top desk, right?
Nothing like it. It's 70s G-Plan teak. I recognised it straight away. Quote
Tonteee Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 My comment had its tongue firmly implanted within it's cheek... 😉 I make you right on the timber. It has that ochre glow of 70's furniture teak. Quote
Happy Jack Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 It needs more tort.
