Noticed this on the Bass Direct website:

Definitely something you don't see every day. Not enough strings for me though.

How can it be "in unmarked condition with light player wear"? It's either unmarked or it has light player wear, it can't be both.

If it was carbon fibre or finished in a nice bright colour or something I think it would look pretty good. What I never understand is when luthiers make something unconventional/modern looking & then build it with woods that makes it look like a Victorian roll top desk.

It looks like a first draft of a Dead Can Dance album cover. Just strange enough to be quite charming, in the same way that I've been quite taking with some of the more peculiar Wishbass designs, in spite of my normal preference for "classic" Fender- and Gibson-style designs.

I quite like it as well, you could do some serious damage with the pointy bits! My only worry is the forward strap mount can't have a lot of meat to be mounted into?

It's got that "almost, but not quite", slightly wonky look you tend to see on home-made basses. Would be an interesting & striking design if it was just slimmed down a bit - as it is it's just slabby & a bit ugly. And looks like it's made out of your gran's wardrobe.

It IS a Victorian roll top desk, right?

Nothing like it. It's 70s G-Plan teak. I recognised it straight away.
