FS - Fender Precision, California Series, P/J with Jazz Neck
£550

For sale is my Fender California series Precision Bass.
Black, maple board with gold anodised scratch plate.
P/J set up V/V/T, with a Jazz bass neck.

As far as I know these were built between 1998 and 2002 using American parts, the bodies were then sent off to be sprayed in Mexico with final assembly taking place in the USA. As a result, the bass has Made in USA on the headstock with an AMXN serial number. (If i've got my info wrong and someone knows more about these, please correct me on this) Many people say the build quality on these is superior to the Mexican made Precision Special which replaced this series (i have not tried the Mex version so cannot back this up)

The bass is in good condition, no major dings or chips, but is in used condition. Neck is nice and straight with loads of life left in the frets. I will give it a set up with fresh rotosound 45-105's and will also include an hardcase.

I've had this bass for around 7 years now and the reasons for the sale are -
1.) It really doesnt get played as much as it should, sadly its spent more time locked away than being played.
2.) I'm GASsing like a Mother****er for a Jazz bass that i've seen

Price wise, looking for [s]£550[/s], which is a steal for an American quality P.

**ON HOLD**

Collection based about 10 miles north of Brighton.

Any Questions let me know!
Cheers

That's a '97, they were replaced around 99 by the Fender Precision Bass Special, Deluxe Series.
The Cali's are a great model.
Good luck, good job you are in a different time zone to Wigan :D

thank you for the extra info Karlfer and thank you everyone for the kind words.
Its a great little bass, just doesn't get played as much as it should.

All PM's replied to I believe.

You have PM, but I'll ask it here too. Is the neck a 'modern' jazz dimensioned neck with a P-Deluxe logo on it? 1.5" nut, modern or shallow C etc? Or just a 'slimmer than a regular P-bass' neck? I'm not familiar with the California models.

Would consider trades on this for either a Cali 76 TX-L, or a Future Impact with cash my way to make up the difference.

Going to be in Wigan tomorrow if anyone local fancies trying the bass out.

Going to be in
Whitby, North Yorkshire on Friday 28th April
and
Cromer, Norfolk on Saturday 29th April

If anyone wants me to bring the bass along for the journey so they can try it, let me know.

Thanks
