gary mac
It's time for me to replace my vintage multimeter with something up to date and digital. I'm not looking for top of the range as it's not something I use every day. But I do like to buy decent quality that is reliable and user friendly. Recommendations would be much appreciated. Grangur
I also use a cheap multi-meter. After all, we're not checking anything particularly accurate or critical. It's mostly being used to check continuity, battery life or resistance of pots and me smoothness of their sweep. I just saw CPC do a duratool one for less than £3!! Wow, that is cheap! Beer of the Bass
I picked up one of these recently. http://www.rapidonline.com/uni-t-standard-digital-multimeter-tester-ut39c-85-4077 It probably has more features than you need unless you're into pedal and amp DIY, but for guitar electronics it's useful to be able to measure capacitance, and the hold button is handy too. It's quite chunky feeling and seems sturdy enough.
JapanAxe
I recently upgraded to a Megger AVO210, mainly because I wanted to take bias voltage readings as accurately as possible on my Fender Deluxe clone build:
