artisan
Hi guys. I may have a buyer for my bass but I'm in Harrogate & the buyer is in London. Any suggestions as to how I could safely get my bass there undamaged,so a carrier is out, I'd never find a box big enough anyway. Driving all the way is not an option for me & my possible buyer can't drive at all. Train journey is far too expensive too. Any ideas. Cheers Edited April 10, 2017 by artisan
BassBags
If you can get the bass into us at Derby, we can deliver it into London on our van with our other weekly London DB and Cello deliveries/collections. We charge just £49 to deliver a bass in London plus congestion charge if applicable. Just give David or Richard a call on 01332 840391 to arrange. BassBags
No problem, just give us a shout. If the buyer needs to know, we deliver/collect in the London area on Tuesdays.
artisan
Excellent thank you very much. My bass would be in a lightly padded gig bag would that be OK?
BassBags
No problem at all, our van is fitted out internally to safely transport double basses and cellos just in their soft bags. Also, our driver knows double basses and how to handle them. This is because our normal deliveries are actually more like handovers with our hire customers needing advice, especially if they are just starting out on their DB adventure. Grangur
If you book with a bit of time ahead you can get better prices. I just checked the prices from Harrogate to Kings Cross, on the 1st May and catch the 6:25 from Harrogate and return on the 19.03 from Kings Cross; so you have a full day in London too, the total price is £53. If you leave it to the 6th May you might even be able to get a return for £46, depending on the times of trains. The site I've looked at is http://www.thetrainline.com another is http://www.redspottedhanky.com/ Edited April 10, 2017 by Grangur
artisan
Thanks Grangur I really don't want to spend a day in London though 😆 I'm more a country boy. I do appreciate your help though
