Ampeg SVT 410 HLF Tweeter Problem

Hi all. Just bought this cab used and it's fine when the tweeter is turned off but when the tweeter is turned on it makes a fizzy kind of noise, like loud electrical interference. Any ideas what to check or do please? Thanks in advance, any help really appreciated.

It's very difficult to diagnose remotely, but it sounds very much like a faulty tweeter. The other problem that could give you that kind of noise is a loose connection. So check the connections to the tweeter and make sure they are sound, with no frayed wires anywhere.
